Obituary of Maurice Oliver
Maurice Adrain Arthur Oliver was promoted to his eternal home in heaven on May 9, 2018 at his residence in St.Marys at the age of 87.Beloved husband of Nelda Mossip-Oliver whom he married on June 20, 1980 at Bethel Baptist Church Strathroy, Ontario. Father of Stephen of London, Sheri [Ed Thompson} of Blenheim and their children Leah {Ryan McClung} and their son Tristan,: Jordan {Nicole}: Mark {Janet} of St.Marys and their children Sam & Kevin: Scott Mossip {Stephanie} of Pennsylvania, USA and their children Aidan & Ethan; Mark Mossip of Hong Kong: Paul Mossip {Debbie} of Ear Falls and their daughter Valerie-Ann {Tom Taylor} and their son Lincoln: David Mossip {Shannon} of Port Perry and their son Jacob. Brothers-in- law Bob Bushfield, Bill Mossip, Bill Kaufman {Gail}, Marg Benner and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.Maurice was born November 8, 1930 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, son of the late William Oliver and Lavina Adrain. Also predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth {Betty} Bushfield, siblings Samuel {Regina}, Alice, Emma {George Simpson}, William {Theresa} and daughter-in-law Nancy Mossip.Past District Governor of Rotary International, dedicated 53 year member of the Rotary Club of St.Marys, Board member of the Easter Seal Society and Past Chairman Woodeden Easter Seal Camp, a lifetime of volunteering here and throughout the world. Maurice started Maurice Oliver Photography in St.Marys in 1959 and was the founder of Adanac Images. True to Maurice’s wishes, his body was bequeathed to science, University of Western Ontario.Family and friends are invited to ELGIN MISSIONARY CHURCH, 4192 Perth Line 36 Stratford, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Elgin Missionary Church, Rotary Club of St.Marys, Stratford Rotary Hospice or to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum of which he volunteered many hours.
