There are people you encounter in your life that are tangible examples of how we are all called to live. People who love their neighbour as themselves. People who put the needs of others ahead of their own. People who are willing to make sacrifices and help others, expecting nothing in return. Derek was such a person. Always willing to help with anything our family needed it was easy to recognize his huge heart. His frequent visits were always fondly anticipated by our family. Even our two dogs would rush excitedly to the door at the simple mention of "Derek's Here!" And dogs know good people. Carla and I offer our sincere condolences to Sophie, Zoe and Skylar. Our hearts are broken for you at this time. However, we truly feel our lives have been enriched and blessed by having Derek be a part of them and I can't wait to meet again someday... Dr Bruce Hill
