Ah, Mrs. Pfaff...this makes me so sad! Such a lovely, lovely lady. I was one of her Junior Choir kids way back in the day, and I have such wonderful memories of her and how beautifully she treated us...always with kindness, respect and dignity, even though we were just little kids. I saw her at Mrs. Dunsford's funeral several years ago at St. Marys United Church and though I hadn't seen her in years, I knew her instantly...she hadn't changed one bit. St. Marys has lost one of its very, very special angels.

Barbara, Doug and Families: We are so sorry to hear of your Mothers passing. What a wonderful, kind and friendly person she was. Whenever we would crossed paths, she always reminded me when she first moved to St. Marys many years ago that my Mother was one of the first persons she met at the United Church and she said to her Marjorie Welcome to St.Marys. She felt so happy about this and told me about this many times. She always had a way of making a person feel good. Also being from the Bickell Family we enjoyed our many musical times together when she played the piano endlessly as the Bickell Family sang. I know your Family will have had many wonderful times and memories that you will cherish forever. The Love of your Mother will be Truly missed!

Dear Larry, Barb and families, I was so shocked and saddened to hear that Marjorie had passed. She was one in a million! When Jim, Jeff and I were little, we called her our “Kissing Cousin” because she was so affectionate and made such a fuss when she saw us. I’ll always have special memories of Harvey and Marjorie’s visits with my parents, and later with Mom. I always learned Hoffman or Zurich history that I hadn’t known before. I’ll miss our family historian. How wonderful that you have a Hazel and a Mayme in your family; that made me smile. My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Marjorie Pfaff. Her and I go back a long time. I lived in Hensall, her in Zurich. Going to school, every year we would meet for Field Day. We both did what they called High Jump. It was a battle every year between us who was going to win out. Also we had grandchildren who played hockey at St. Mary,s. My grandson being Neil Bestard, son of Brian Bestard, who lived in St. Mary,s We would come from Grand Bend. to see the games. We would sometimes sit together to watch hockey games and visit. I am very sorry to hear of Marjorie,s passing, as we have been good friends through out the years. Doris Bestard

What a wonderful life for Marjorie; kisses, hugs and so special memories. In my mind, let’s celebrate the last of a noble ladies group, friends in deed, that will never ever be repeated in such a class way in the history of our Town: AND most important may I add, most were United Church ladies. And if it’s the UCW, the proud badge of honour comes with magnificent egg salad sandwiches. Marjorie was the up-front person of the Pfaff clan, and Harvey standing behind her on their course in life, a couple who appeared in the Eedy home from the beginning along with Larry and Barbara. Marjorie continued in my life from then, to a few weeks ago. EVERY one of our Eedy family group knew Marj, and placed her in an honoured position in our lives ... although never as our mother, but as our Mother’s best friend. AND for the record, Marj is an acerbic, observant and wry personality matched by no one. Lorne, Nancy and the entire Eedy family who considered the Pfaff’s the best of friends.

We had so much fun with her especially at practices because Lord knows almost anything could be said.
