Obituary of Larry Duncan Hossack
Larry Duncan Hossack born May 9, 1941 at the home farm in East Nissouri Township slipped gently into the arms of Our Lord January 15 2022 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital.
Beloved husband, friend and soulmate of Pat Blackler for sixty years.Larry devoted his life to his family. Our children adored him! Kathy O'Drowsky (Patrick), Reta, Ray, and Scott (Amy) Hossack.
Larry was thrilled to work and play with his grandchildren.Erin O'Drowsky, Kirsten Pynenburg (Derek), Brett O'Drowsky (Kelly), Gillian Los (Dirk), Taylor McNorgan Hossack, Blake Hossack.
Great joy came in the safe arrival of two great grandbabies in 2021...Abigail Jane Los and Jack Duncan O'Drowsky. Larry is survived by sister- in- law Beth Grant and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Em and Stella (Blakie) Hossack; his brothers Don, Bob,and Ron Hossack and his Mother and father-in-law Jim and Nellie Blackler.
Larry's schooling started in a one room, all eight grade classroom. He quit high school in grade 10 to work on the farm, at Hearn's Dairy, and play hockey with the Lincs. In 1962 he married Pat; sat in on Grade 13 classes and earned, a few years later, the qualifications for teacher's college. His tolerant, understanding ways helped to make him a respected colleague and teacher for 31 years; first at Plover Mills, the rest at Arthur Meighen.
Hockey was the joy of his life and he actively coached and played on many teams. He truly loved transporting and watching his children and especially his grandchildren become skilled and participate in sport. Occasionally he was unable to resist giving the odd tip or pointer... albeit right or wrong.
