We are so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. My Mom, Jean King, who also lived at Kingsway until her passing in 2021, was a good friend to Joan. Mom would always have time to stop and talk to Joan, help her when she needed it, share jokes and make sure the staff would help Joan if they weren't near at hand.
When I visited my Mom I would always stop to talk to Joan. Such a wonderful person and she always had a story to share.
May lots of good memories, photos and knowing others are thinking of you at this time keep Joan in your hearts always.

Dear Chris, Tyler and families
I was so sorry to read of your mom, Joan's death recently. Like so many other folks have mentioned, your mom and dad were friends of ours through Kin - a wonderful organization bringing alot of good people together. I loved spending time with both Joan and Ted and will never forget your mom's beautiful smile. She was always so gracious.
Chris, it was good to spend a few minutes with you this winter - as we both waited to see our beautiful mothers. I'm sorry for your loss.

When I think of my children's time at Central school, Mrs. Grenda certainly comes to mind. She was an awesome teacher, whom my children enjoyed and learnt so much from. After Doug passed she came to the house several times, to check in with us. That meant more to us, then I think she ever knew. Years later, I worked for her and Ted. It was lovely to reconnect with her. I always enjoyed my time with them both. After they moved into Kingsway, we would still get together for a visit. Both Joan and Ted were very caring people, and always a pleasure to see.
With sympathy, Glenna Day Hicks

My love & hugs go out to Chris & Mason and Tyler & Tracy. Such a good friend whom we met as Kinsmen/Kinette. So much fun, so many wonderful memories of dinner parties, laughs, lobster fest, Christmas carolling at nursing homes always the Sunday after the Kinsmen Christmas party but always followed by another party. You were always a lady Joanie. Your struggles are over.

Joan was a very good friend to my Mother through the Kinette Club in St.Mary’s. I have warm memories of playing at their house with Chris - usually the Fischer Price garage and a number of cars all over the floor.
